Does Milwaukee Own Ryobi? (Explained)

When it comes to power tools that you can trust, the two popular brands that have literally become household names are Milwaukee and Ryobi.

Milwaukee is my preferred brand. I have purchased a chainsaw, a plier, even a lawn mower from the numerous stores in my city.

However, my neighbors enjoy Ryobi and I don’t see them switching anytime soon.

The ultimate question that we all have is “Does Milwaukee own Ryobi?” and here’s what I know as a consumer of these brand power tools:

Milwaukee and Ryobi belong to the same Hong Kong based manufacturing company know as Techtronic Industries. Yes, both brands share the same parent company, but Milwaukee doesn’t own Ryobi and they’re not the same. Their range of products differ slightly and their positioning in the market also differs.

Should You Buy a Milwaukee Or a Ryobi Power Tool?

When it comes to power tools, whether Milwaukee or Ryobi is better, you might wonder if you should choose Milwaukee or Ryobi.

There are many reasons to choose Milwaukee — the higher quality, the better warranty, and the extra features.

However, if you want to save some money and get a Ryobi instead, you should consider other features of each brand.

After all, Ryobi power tools are also very good.

Techtronic Industries Company

The techtronic Industries Company is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of power hand tools.

Based in Hong Kong, it started as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the craftsman, RIDGID, and Bissell power tools.

At the beginning of the twenty-first century, Techtronic made a move into the branded marketplace by purchasing brands like Ryobi, Homelite, and Royal Appliances Mfg.

In 1961, the company started out by manufacturing die-cast products, mainly offset printing presses. The name Ryobi was changed to ‘Ryobi’ in 1973, and it has twelve manufacturing facilities in 6 countries.

Its Shelbyville, Indiana, plant is the only manufacturing location in the United States.

In 2014, the company officially partnered with Hertha Berlin. The move is expected to increase the company’s presence in the North American market.

The company is comprised of three business units, each with its own market share and focus. In North America, the company grew 33.7%, whereas in Europe, the company increased by 41.1%.

The company is also headquartered in Hong Kong. The Techtronic Industries Company owns Ryobi and many other brands.

The company was founded in Hong Kong in 1985 by Horst Julius Pudwill, a former Volkswagen executive who had spent a year in Hong Kong. Pudwiller served as the company’s chairman and CEO, while Chung served as the managing director.

Their focus on contractors and DIYers makes their products well-built and sound investments.

In addition, Milwaukee recognizes that the needs of construction professionals vary considerably, and they provide specialized instruments and equipment that cater to various needs. Ryobi tools also feature tools to perform various tasks, including wiring and ballast testing.

While Milwaukee has the advantage of being headquartered in the United States, Ryobi operates in Japan.

The company is owned by Techtronic Industries Company, the second-largest power tool company in the world. Its extensive holdings and global reach allow it to serve a number of industries.

Its presence is similar to that of Milwaukee, and smart technology helps it to compete in the DIY market. The two companies are well-suited to each other in different ways.

The companies also have different positioning in the market. Although Milwaukee is headquartered in Hong Kong, it has significant USA presence in Brookfield and Sun Prairie.

Additionally, Milwaukee has manufacturing plants in Mississippi and Indiana. This expansion makes sense given the industry’s growth. If you’re in the market for power tools, it makes sense to look for a company with a diverse portfolio of products. You won’t be disappointed!

Both companies offer power tools for both DIYers and professionals. But which brand is better for you? When it comes to professional-grade tools, Milwaukee is a better choice for tradesmen.

The price difference between Ryobi and Milwaukee isn’t that great, as the Milwaukee range is more comprehensive.

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly option, consider Ryobi. The low price tag isn’t always a sign of quality.

Milwaukee and Ryobi Products Are Sold By Home Depot

These brands are both made by the same company, and their tools are available exclusively at Home Depot stores.

While Milwaukee and Ryobi are more expensive than their competitors, they have more features. In fact, Milwaukee’s price tag is more than triple that of Ryobi’s. So, which brand should you buy? This article will help you make the decision.

The company’s lithium-ion technology makes it ideal for a range of DIY tasks, and it used to be sold exclusively at Lowe’s, but now Home Depot owns both brands.

Home Depot is a massive corporation, with more than 2000 stores in the U.S. and Canada. While Lowe’s has the largest global footprint, it’s also been accused of falling behind in inventory management and supply-chain efficiency.

Besides Ryobi, Home Depot sells several other tools. The company also sells tools storage, and even accessories. Some of its own brands, including Stumptown, are also popular among online shoppers.

In fact, many of them have excellent reviews. If you’re looking for a brand with good reviews, Ryobi is a great choice. However, beware of fake or cheap products.

Lowe’s doesn’t carry the Ryobi brand, but they sell the Milwaukee and Stihl brands.

Although Home Depot sells Ryobi tools exclusively, you can also find the brand at Target and Walmart. While you won’t find a huge selection of Ryobi tools at these places, you can find them at specialty tool merchants or online.

These retail stores may not offer the same wide selection as Home Depot.
